Madison, Holly, and Lina come up with a way to get dates and take care of their Interpersonal Human Development IHD project: set up a website and quiz their fellow students to find out who is more obsessed about sex boys or girls.
Mads has an obsession of her own by the name of Sean Bendetto, but he doesnt take her seriously he's a senior and she's a sophomore. Lina has an obsession with the IHD teacher, Dan. The results of the survey are often unexpected and generally funny. Everyone, it seems, is pretty infatuated with sex, though not everyone is entirely truthful and that includes our three heroines.
Mad's quest for experience is often comic, but also kind of sad. It would have been nice if she and the other girls had come to a realization or a reckoning at the end of the book, but that's the adult in me talking. This is not a book to teach you lessons, this is a book about adolescent confusion, sex, dating, and all the stuff that goes along with that. Fans of those books will definitely like this one.

The Dating Game was lame. December 31, Reader reviewed by Erica I wasn't exactly impressed with this book. I rarely want to put a book down after starting, but this one I struggled to get through to the end.
It was silly to the point it almost was stupid. The characters showed no real character, and the main character does the same dumb stuff over and over. They were rather unrealistic as well. There are 2 more books in the series. Let the Matching Begin.
December 01, Although they are friendly with the popular kids, they haven't exactly been invited to any "cool" parties lately. With love in their hands, and each quiz entry that comes in, these girls pair themselves up with they guys of their dreams. But is it really meant to be, especially when you cheat love? Review This book was pretty good, a fun quick read with a light plot.
I liked the multi-person POV, how I was able to get into each girl's head. It's funny how different these girls are, but also how they are soo much alike. The only thing I didn't really like was the amount of dialogue that was in the book. At times, I thought it was just too much, and wasn't well written. The writing was weak at some points too, but it was a good read overall. August 10, Reader reviewed by kate I've read the first two books in the Dating Game series and I wasn't exactly impressed.
There were some issues I thought the book didn't exactly need It also seemed very unrealistic. If you're into books like those, then go ahead and read it, but if you're into something cleaner then these books, more kudos for you. July 14, Reader reviewed by sara This book is really funny.
I love how the teacher lets the three girls do their project no question asked. I also like how much there school is like just about every other real life school. Really there isn't anything bad about this book in my opinion. July 13, Reader reviewed by hannah these girls holly, linda, and madison find diffrent ways to get dates to take care of there ihd project which is to set up a website and quiz people on who is more obsessed with sex the girls or boys.
May 27, Mads wants Sean Benedetto to go out with her, but he thinks she's twelve! So now Mads is on a journey to prove her maturity and sex appeal to Sean. Along the way, Mads will endure humilitation, heartache, and hangovers. Holly is just the opposite, because of a prank Mads pulled everyone is now calling Holly lewd names and thinks she is a very liberal girl.
Now it seems like everytime she gets a boyfriend he only wants one thing She is competing with Ramona, a goth girl who runs a cult for girl obsessed with Dan, Lina doesn't want to be this girls friend, but as the secrets between her and Dan pile up, she knows she can't tell Mads or Holly, only Ramona understands.
I like the comedy in this book, if you have ever done anything desperate to get a guy, trust me, this book will make it seem like what you did was completely normal. Another Great New Series. January 28, Reader reviewed by Ria 3 best friends have a project to do for school, so they decide to make up a website called the Dating Game.
Madison wants to go out with the hottest guy at school. Holly wants people to stop making up rumors about her. Lina is in love with her teacher. On their new website, they learn about the different escapades of their classmates and how experienced they are. This was a very light, pretty fun read. If you want something that will make you chuckle and is a quick read, check this one out. First Line: "I love Sean Benedetto.
Jul 26, Shyloh rated it did not like it. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Oh boy.. Right so. First off, I disliked knowing everybody's names. We never really see much of Keith Carter anyway, so why is his last name important? The characters are selfish, immature, and annoying. I don't mind Holly too much, because most of the time she seems to know what's up. But Mads and Lina?
Mads is so blinded by Sean that she doesn't care that he's got a girlfriend or whatever she is , that he's only two grades Oh boy.. Mads is so blinded by Sean that she doesn't care that he's got a girlfriend or whatever she is , that he's only two grades above her and calls her "kid", and basically doesn't care about her at all.
She thinks going out and being a slut's gonna make him like her. Don't people give up the first couple of rejections? Furthermore, she's just as bad as Yucky Gilbert, and all these guys that are the same age as Sean practically pull down their pants for her not literally but whatever as soon as she wishes for it.
What the hell? And Lina. She over-analyzes everything related to Mr. I couldn't help but roll my eyes while reading about Lina and her crush on the sex-ed teacher. Ramona and her friends are unrealistic in their obsession with Mr. Shulman what with the stealing of discarded used coffee cups and all. But Mr.
Shulman irritates me too, because when their group presents their completely off-topic and ridiculous report, he doesn't notice!!! He compliments their conclusions. Also, Mr. Shulman asks too much of 10th graders with that project assignment - I don't blame Karl Levine for having a hard time thinking of an idea.
I don't know if this is really an accurate portrayal of normal high school girls, but I just recently graduated, and I don't remember high school ever being like this. Okay I'm done. Nov 17, Kendra added it Shelves: senior-advisory-reading-quater The Dating Game Dating Game, 1 by Natalie Standiford pg To start off this is the first book of the series but I read accidentally one of the other books in the series and still thought this book was interesting but reading it in order would probably be better.
So it starts with 3 girls, a quiz and a question about dating if you find that this sound interesting try reading to the book to find out more. Having rumors with the hottest guy in school, wanting to date the hottest senior boy whil The Dating Game Dating Game, 1 by Natalie Standiford pg To start off this is the first book of the series but I read accidentally one of the other books in the series and still thought this book was interesting but reading it in order would probably be better.
Having rumors with the hottest guy in school, wanting to date the hottest senior boy while having no experience and being madly in love with a teacher, interesting enough it will show how things pan out. I liked many part of the book but my favorite was how they did a quiz and showed you the answers and how thy put horoscopes in the book for each character. They had quizzes that they made and the blurb on the back was a quiz and it was great and totally pulled me in.
The way the story is writing is intresting too. I think the people who should read this book is people who have like me read the other books first to understand it more. People who like horoscopes and love stories. Nov 01, Meghann rated it liked it Shelves: ya , romance , contemporary. This book is about three girls, Madison, Lina, and Holly. They decide to do a project on which gender thinks about sex more and set up a quiz on a blog to test their theory and match up people.
During their project they decide to work on their relationships with their crushes. While each one fails at their attempts they start to realize that not everyone is as experienced as the quiz responses made it seem. I usually enjoy cute books like this but for some reason this book struck me wrong. I'm no This book is about three girls, Madison, Lina, and Holly. I'm not sure if its because I never thought like that when I was in high school or what. Sex wasn't my number one goal.
I just couldn't relate to these girls at all. Of course part of the problem could be the character development. Another issue I had was how right in the middle of a chapter without warning there would be a character flip and I would get confused for a moment. I did enjoy the ideal of the book and with a little tweaking it would probably be a great book.
Also since I'm older than the target audience, it might play a role in my feelings about the book. Jan 03, Christina Palmer rated it it was amazing. This is one of those books that I came across while looking for an interesting cover in the library.
When 3 girls decide to take their dating lives into their own hands, things take a turn for the worst. It has drama, tears, betrayal, happiness, and pain. I, personally, can relate to this book because of the fact that it is very accurate. The average teenager will feel at home with this book, and will find enjoyment in reading about the daily adventures of Holly, Maddie and Lina.
Sep 07, Charmaine rated it did not like it. This book was terrifying. These girls are only 15! They are so young, naive, and delusional. One quote had me laughing: "Madison was thirsty. She was absolutely desperate for attention and validation, which was pretty sad.
Lina came across as creepy. Her whole situation was a bit too stalker-y for me to handle. I found myself cringing and hoping that it would all STOP. I felt bad for Holly. She seemed somewhat normal, if a bit jaded This book was terrifying. She seemed somewhat normal, if a bit jaded at such a young age!
Overall, this book left a bad taste in my mouth. And it made me feel really, really old. May 17, Corine rated it really liked it Shelves: 9th-grade. They make of this website, and try to play matchmaker in thier school. The website becomes a huge hit,and everyone wants to find thier "match.
This is the first book, in the dating game series. All three of them has different personalities. Another one is in love with a teacher. The Last out of the three, wants more experience in life because everyone think she's just a kid. Aug 08, Shana rated it did not like it Shelves: gave-up , ya , fiction , great-review , terrible. This was unreadable. The author is trying far too hard to mimic what high schoolers "really think", maybe in an effort to grab people who graduated high school more than five years ago.
I fall into that category, and I was lucky in that my high school was on the cusp of technology, but we definitely were not so vapid. May 05, Morgan rated it did not like it. Apr 05, Amy marked it as to-read. I LOVE this book. This is a series to the books breaking up is really hard to do and the speed dating. This book talks about how these 3 girls are best friend and how they come up with this website call "the dating game" for the project.

I have all of them and I'm willing to let you borrow them ; Sep 30, Sarah rated it really liked it. This book wasn't exactly my favorite, but it still kept me wanting to read till the end to see what happens. I give it 4 stars, because it didn't really captivate me or interest me that much. I would recommend this book to girls who like gossip, chick-lit, teen-fiction kind of books!
Nov 05, Dayla rated it liked it. It was okay I think the characters were a bit superficial. I know that they're 15 and 16, but this was just pushing it. Gave it a 3 because on some points it was entertaining, but it mostly bugged me. Will not be reading the sequel. Nov 06, Molly rated it it was ok. As usual Emma is right. This book was dumbb.
These girls are whores and there only intention is hook-Ups. That's all I got from it anyways. Then they have good boyfriends now they wanna break up with them. Just don't even waste your time. View all 12 comments. Apr 09, Bethany Mart rated it really liked it. I liked it. For a total teen-esque kind of novel. But it ended badly, I thought. The story didn't end and now I have to read the other books in the series. First book for my challenge! Only 29 more to go! When I was reading this first book I felt like all the girls were one in the same.
I had a hard time separating them. This book is a cute, fluffy, entertaining read that is definitely for the younger adult's out there. The ending left it for another book, no clue on if I will ever read it. May 05, Melissa rated it liked it. This book isn't something I normally would have picked, but the drama and highschool thing is something that I can escape for a bit.
Even though its teenage drama, sometimes even as an adult I can relate to.
